Blogs : ZALESKI PROVES LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: AGAIN
By: Steve
It only took 150 words to make two huge mistakes. But we begin to expect some interesting writing from Jack Zaleski, the editorial page editor of North Dakotas largest circulation daily. Rob Port at Sayanythingbog was the first to point out the fact that John Edwards was John Kerrys running mate in 2004 while Joe Lieberman was Al Gores in 2000, not exactly as stated by Zaleski:
______________________
"One-note John Edwards, the former North Carolina senator and Al Gores vice presidential running mate in 2000, couldnt get Gores endorsement. The high priest of global warming and other hot-air bloviating threw his support to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, which by any measure is a slap in Edwards political face.
Not that Gores endorsement would have been much help in Edwards class-warfare campaign. But gosh, doesnt political loyalty mean anything to a guy who won the Nobel Peace Prize? Guess not."

Then Zaeski writes:
______________________
"upport for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee proves that a lot of Republicans are not familiar with Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. Or they are kissing it off as less important than their religiosity. The last lines go like this: but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.
Got that? The language is unambiguous."
______________________
He infers that by voting for Mike Huckabee, a lot of Republicans are in violation of Article VI of the U.S. Constitution. He apparently is unaware that the Article is an establishment that NO LAW CAN BE MADE in regard to religion defining suitability for public office.
This can only be one of two things; sophistry or ignorance. Upon reading many of his recent editorials, it is becoming increasingly difficult to even suppose which is the case on the Forum Editorial page.
Read the whole thing and wonder for yourself.
